Synopsis
Sanctions laws exist to maintain international peace and security. When potential threats are identified, international bodies respond by establishing sanctions against designated individuals or entities to disrupt their activities.
Due to the complexity of sanctions, financial institutions must adopt thorough screening and reporting procedures to ensure compliance with various sanction programmes. As sanctions can impact many areas of business, employees must remain vigilant to avoid breaches, which can result in severe penalties.
Note: This is a beginner level course.
